BERLIN — ABC has picked up new cooking show ”The Taste.”Created and produced by Kinetic Content, the skein features food writer Nigella Lawson and TV chef Anthony Bourdain heading a panel of four judges in a cooking competition that pits skilled cooks against one another. The network has ordered eight episodes of the format, in which Lawson and Bourdain each coach a team of cooks who compete individually and together, facing elimination at the end of each show. Santa Monica-based Kinetic is a subsidiary of German giant ProSiebenSat.1′s production and distribution unit Red Arrow Entertainment Group, which launched in 2010 with the aim of developing and producing TV content for the international market. Led by Chris Coelen, Kinetic has become a key player in the company’s growing roster of international assets. ”We are thrilled about ABC s pick-up and look forward to capitalizing on this success with a series of strong international partnerships,” said Caroline Kusser of SevenOne Intl., Red Arrow’s world sales arm, which is handling the format internationally.
