Wright had vision on ‘Anna’

Helmer knew the direction of stylized Tolstoy adaptation

Joe Wright’s stylized adaptation of “Anna Karenina” was a “high-wire act like no other you’ll see this year,” said Focus’ James Schamus at the pic’s L.A. preem Nov. 14 at the Arclight in Hollywood. “There were moments when we didn’t know where it was going to go, but Joe Wright always did.”

Wright noted: “Tonight is about bringing this finally to L.A., and that’s quite nerve-wracking. Disregarding my love of being cheesy, this film is for lovers — that is, for everybody.”

Star Keira Knightley changed out of her gorgeous Erdem ball gown when she and guests retired to Greystone Manor in WeHo to party.
