NBCUniversal Intl. Television has named Bruce Mitchell as vice president, digital, for its channels’ division. Based in London, Mitchell will focus on strengthening the online presence of NBCUniversal’s pay TV webs around the world. He will work with the company’s digital teams in local territories. The appointment is effective immediately. Mitchell will report to Lee Raftery, exec VP, international marketing, NBCUniversal.

MSNBC has named Lauren Skowronski its new veep of media relations. Skowronski was director of media relations at MSNBC for three years and worked with the NBC News division prior to that.
Daisy Wei has been appointed as CBS Interactive China’s director of legal. Wei was formerly counsel at Beijing’s Han Kun Law Offices, where her practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment.

Cableready has brought on Steven Cheskin as a consultant. Cheskin most recently served as exec veep for TLC and senior veep for WE tv and is well-known for originating a Discovery favorite, “Shark Week.”

The Art Center College of Design has hired Gary Goldsmith as advertising department chair. Goldsmith is a co-founder of Underhead, a creative resource network, and has won numerous awards for his time at such companies as Lowe Worldwide and DBB.

Participant Media tapped Jaime Uzeta senior veep of television and digital social action and Alden Stoner as veep of film social action. Most recently, Uzeta helmed growth strategy and development for GreatSchools while Stoner led the film and promotion departments at Davie Brown.
