Penelope Selwyn-Levey, former senior VP of media & talent relations at UPN, died on Aug. 12 after a lengthy battle with bipolar disorder. She was 64.

Prior to joining UPN, Selwyn-Levey was vice president of media relations for New World Entertainment, responsible for all publicity on the company’s slate of network and syndicated series. Before New World, she served as VP of publicity, advertising & promotion as well as company spokesperson for Stephen J. Cannell Prods., a position in which she continued after New World’s acquisition of Cannell’s company.

Selwyn-Levey was born in London, England. She began her career in media relations working for Walt Disney Television. In the summer of 1999, her life took a turn and she could never bounce back from the downward spiral that followed.

She is survived by her ex-husband, Ed Levey, and a son.
