Monkeys & Elephants at Peacock bash

Politics normally don’t play a factor at the Television Critics Assn. tour, but things definitely took a right turn July 24 at the NBC party at the BevHilton.

With husband Todd appearing in the Peacock’s upcoming new reality show “Stars Earn Stripes,” Sarah Palin was hobnobbing with Peacock talent and scribes who were quick to snap pictures with the former vice presidential candidate.

Battling Palin for attention, however, was “Hangover 2” star Crystal the Monkey. The diaper-wearing simian steals scenes in NBC’s new laffer “Animal Practice,” and was grabbing much of the spotlight.

Meanwhile, looking to capture some of the sitcom glory the network had in the 1990s with “Friends,” NBC has brought back Matthew Perry to topline laffer “Go On.” He was seen courting the press for much of the night, while folks such as uberproducer Dick Wolf and “Real Housewife” NeNe Leakes made the rounds.
