A pioneer in guiding talent agencies into branding and creating licensing programs for clients, Jacobson has worked over the last 15 years to build UTA’s branding, licensing and endorsement department. Jacobson helped Gwen Stefani launch her successful L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers brands and recently helped Stefani introduce her Harajuku Mini for Target stores — those product lines have racked up more than $1 billion in retail sales. Jacobson recently helped Rachel Bilson introducer her Edie Rose Home line at Macy’s and she oversaw Tori Spelling’s new children’s line at JCPenney.

What we should know: “In terms of what I do, in creating and building successful lifestyle brands around talent, there has to be an authentic and organic story around the brand.”

Phone on vacation?: “Unfortunately yes, but I do try to limit the amount of time I spend on it. If you don’t put the phone away, your body leaves the office but your mind does not.”

Life-work balance: “I try to be really present no matter what I’m doing, whether it’s work or family. If I’m with family, I try to give them my full and undivided attention so that time together is meaningful and rich, but it’s a struggle, like it is for everyone.”

Charitable passion: “All of the animal rescue organizations: the Humane Society, ASPCA, the local ones including Much Love, Lange Foundation, Amanda Foundation, and I could go on. I’ve always had rescue dogs and loved animals. These helpless souls have so much unconditional love to give and to see them suffer abuse or abandonment just breaks my heart.”
