LONDON — The U.K.’s music scene stepped out to support one of its own at the May 30 world bow of Revolver’s “Ill Manors.”
Pic is the maiden directing voyage for London hip-hop artist Plan B, who helms under the name Ben Drew. Fellow Brit tune talent, including Tinie Tempah and Ed Sheeran, were in attendance at Leicester Square’s Empire.
Seen as an urban musical, “Ill Manors” put its thesps through the paces. Lead Riz Ahmed joked, “I was tap-dancing a lot before every take. My jazz hands are perfected now.”
Drew said of his turn at the helm, “This is the start. This is the beginning.”
Guests partied across the square at the glitzy W Hotel, drinking until the early hours.
