Showrunner refuses to worry about sophomore slump
Showtime and Time Warner Cable rolled out the red carpet pre-recession style, including an impressive fireworks display, for the second season preem of “Homeland” in New York.
The cast, crew and fashion royalty, including Anna Wintour and Valentino, boarded the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum for Friday’s bash.
At the lavish afterparty on the aircraft carrier’s massive flight deck, guests could sip cocktails, munch on sliders and dance either under the moonlight with Manhattan’s glowing skyline serving as a backdrop or just beneath the museum’s latest addition — space shuttle Enterprise.
Between chatting with skein stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, exec producer Alex Gansa said he isn’t too concerned about a sophomore slump.
“If you spend too much time second guessing how something is going to be reacted to, you put yourself in a bind,” Gansa said. The writers and producers “try and tell an engaging story that excites us, and we hope that it’s also compelling to an audience. That’s all you can do.”
