Wildbrain sponsors 'Yo Gabba' redesign for family
Amanda Jordan’s kids will have an even greater reason to sing along with “Yo Gabba Gabba!” The family, recipients of a home from the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, also won a Yo Gabba Gabba! Kid’s Bedroom Makeover sponsored by Wildbrain Entertainment, producers behind the hit animation, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and DIY designer Holly Westhoff. The makeover kicks off the upcoming “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!” tour with dates to be announced soon.
This isn’t the first time Wildbrain has teamed with Habitat for Humanity as the pair joined forces for the first Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! tour in 2010. That partnership included the cast of “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!” along with DJ Lance Rock and S2BN, teaming up with Habitat for Humanity by assisting in building homes in each city on the tour including donating $1 from every ticket sold to each tour city’s Habitat for Humanity.
Wildbrain makes sure to always include a prosocial element to its intellectual properties. This fall, it is launching a project called Umigo that’s being described as a “Schoolhouse Rock for today’s generation” that will teach kids how to invent and create using animated videos, apps, board games and other multimedia. Umigo is funded by the U.S. Department of Education through a $32.5 million grant.
The “Yo Gabba Gabba!” Kid’s Bedroom Makeover is also timed with toon’s bedding hitting the shelves at Walmart. The Jordan family won the contest by submitting their nightly bedtime ritual story.
