After working as a thesp for more than 60 years, Max von Sydow says he’s mostly unimpressed by the scripts he receives these days. But “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” was an exception.
“Too many scripts are boring and not quite interesting,” he says. “They’re sending me things I’ve done before.”
Von Sydow said he is “moved” to be nominated by his colleagues. The silent role of the renter was “very interesting and very different” for the veteran, who earned a supporting actor bid.
