Janet McTeer, a supporting actress nominee for “Albert Nobbs,” learned of her good fortune while waiting backstage at NBC’s “Today.”
“I watched it on the telly,” she said. For McTeer, there was never a question of whether she would take the role of Hubert Page, a woman living as a man in early 20th century Ireland. The chance to work with star Glenn Close and helmer Rodrigo Garcia, was a “bundle of loveliness.” In the coming weeks, McTeer will be working again with Close on the DirecTV drama “Damages.”
