Best actress, 'Albert Nobbs'

The best actress Oscar nom marks a satisfying end to a 14-year journey for Glenn Close, who first optioned the story for “Albert Nobbs” in 1998.

“If you do stuff for any other reason” than believing in the work you do, “you can so fast get away from who you really are,” Close says.

Close has become “lifelong friends” with co-star and supporting actress nominee Janet McTeer working on the film.

“It was the two of us together for the rigorous hair and makeup tests.,” Close said. “Janet is a phenomenal person.”
