Music kudos haven't had host since 2004
LL Cool J will host the 54th Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, marking the first time in seven years that the kudocast has employed a host. The rapper and star of CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles” is already a familiar figure to Grammy watchers: He has hosted the annual CBS special “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night” since its bow in 2008. He co-hosted with Taylor Swift the first year and has flown solo since. Singer-actress Queen Latifah served as the award show’s last host in 2004. Previously, show was helmed by such non-musicians as Jon Stewart, Bill Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell. The Grammys will air from Staples Center on CBS.
