CBS’ annual broadcast of the Grammys has been confirmed for Feb. 10, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Nominations for the Grammys will be announced live on the Eye in primetime Dec. 5, in a special that will also feature performances.
Viewership for the Grammys in 2012 increased approximately 50% from the previous year to 39.9 million overall, the largest audience since the record total of 1984, partly a consequence of the passing of Whitney Houston the night before. The kudocast drew a 14.1 rating and 33 share among viewers 18-49, compared with 10.0/27 (26.7 million) in 2011.
The Grammys have been at Staples Center since 2000, with the exception of 2003 when they were held at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
