Grammy Museum to honor Whitney Houston

Exhibit dedicated to singer's life and legacy

The Grammy Museum will pay tribute to Whitney Houston with an exhibit dedicated to the singer’s life and legacy.

Grammy Museum exec director Bob Santelli said the exhibit has long been in the works and was timed to coincide with her birthday (Aug. 9) and the Aug. 17 bow of her final movie, “Sparkle.”

Whitney! Celebrating the Legacy of Whitney Houston opens Aug. 15 and will be on display through February. Houston died last February at the age of 48.

“I’m honored that the family of Whitney Houston has chosen to work with us,” he said.

Santelli worked closely with Houston family members including Cece Houston and Donna Houston to assemble the collection, which includes a bevy of rare photographs and footage as well as stage costumes and even Houston’s personal Bible.

“This exhibit is a token of appreciation from our family for Whitney’s fans to enjoy and embrace,” said Pat Houston, who was Whitney’s manager. “We hope they are as elated as we are to have shared in such a remarkable life.”
