Clear Channel Media, the Weinstein Co. and Madison Square Garden Co. have joined forces to mount a “12-12-12,” a benefit concert to aid relief efforts for Superstorm Sandy.
The Dec. 12 concert will be produced by James Dolan, exec chairman of Madison Square Garden Co.; John Sykes, prez of Clear Channel; and Weinstein Co.’s Harvey Weinstein. The three companies previously worked together on “The Concert for New York City” 9/11 benefit concert.
Money raised from “12-12-12” will be administered to storm victims in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area through the Robin Hood Relief Fund.
The lineup of performers will be unveiled shortly, organizers said.
“We have no doubt that the event we are planning will be filled with unforgettable music, entertainment and that uniquely American spirit of community, compassion and generosity,” Dolan, Sykes and Weinstein said in a joint statement.
