Will help track and evaluate effects of FCC Open Internet rules
The Writers Guild of America, West has been selected by the Federal Communications Commission to be a member of its first Open Internet Advisory Committee.
WGA West assistant exec director Charles B. Slocum will be one of 21 OIAC members.
The mission of the committee is to aid the FCC in tracking and evaluating the effects of its Open Internet rules.
The WGA West note that it has recently been active in Washington, DC on issues related to the Internet, including the Stop Online Piracy Act and PROTECT-IP.
