Company to sell 'Freak,' 'Angels' at Cannes

GRB Entertainment has launched an international feature film division that will be selling rights to two films at Cannes.

GRB expanded into theatrical feature films last year when topper Gary R. Benz set up the feature division and brought Todd Olsson onboard.

It’s selling rights to “Queen Freak” and “When Angels Sing.”

“Freak” stars Matthew Modine, Kristin Chenoweth, Joey King, Shirley Jones and Olesya Rulin in the tale of a dysfunctional family in which the kids take matters into their own hands to “re-educate” their distant, eccentric parents. The film was directed by Benjamin Epps and produced by Adam Saunders and Chris Aronoff, through their Footprint Features banner, in association with the Bedford Falls Co.

Harry Connick Jr. and Connie Britton star in “Angels,” produced by Elizabeth Avellan and Shannon McIntosh. Cast also includes Chandler Canterbury, Fionnula Flanagan, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett. Tim McCanlies directs from a script based on the Turk Pipkin novel of the same name.
