Pair to announce Broadway awards nominations

Kristin Chenoweth and Jim Parsons, two Broadway alums who are well-known to TV auds, are on tap to announce the 2012 Tony nominations.

Chenoweth, currently appearing in ABC skein “GCB,” is a Rialto regular whose past stage stints include “Promises, Promises” and “Wicked.” Parsons, one of the stars of CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” was in the cast of last season’s revival of “The Normal Heart” and will topline a Main Stem production of “Harvey” this summer.

Legiters including Ted Chapin and Heather Hitchens of the American Theater Wing and Nick Scandalios and Charlotte St. Martin of the Broadway League — the two orgs that present the Tonys every year — also will be on hand for the event.

Nominations announcement is set for May 1 at the New York Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, with the noms to be broadcast live by Gotham local news channel NY1 and streamed on Tonyawards.com.

Neil Patrick Harris hosts the 66th annual Tony Awards, which CBS will broadcast live from the Beacon Theater June 10.
