Vanessa Redgrave and Jesse Eisenberg will star in actor-scribe Eisenberg’s latest Off Broadway play, “The Revisionist,” set for a stint at the Rattlestick Theater in the spring.
Eisenberg portrays a young writer who goes to Poland to visit his 75-year-old second cousin, to be played by Redgrave.
“Revisionist” marks Eisenberg’s second script to be produced by Rattlestick. Last season, his play “Asuncion” bowed there in a production with a cast that included Eisenberg and Justin Bartha. Kip Fagan, the helmer of “Asuncion,” also directs “Revisionist.”
Redgrave’s last Gotham stage stint was in the 2010 revival of “Driving Miss Daisy.”
Rattlestick’s 2011-12 season also includes Adam Rapp’s “Through the Yellow Hour,” now playing, as well as an upcoming staging of Jon Fosse’s “A Summer Day” starring Karen Allen.
Rattlestick produces “The Revisionist” at the Cherry Lane Theater in downtown Gotham, where the play begins previews Feb. 6 ahead of a Feb. 21 opening.
