Indie gears up for Nov. 30 release

Factory 25, the Brooklyn pic and music distribution label, has snagged world rights to “New Jerusalem,” the 2011 drama directed by Rick Alverson, helmer of 2012 Sundance attention-getter “The Comedy.”

“New Jerusalem” bowed at the Intl. Film Festival Rotterdam last year and also played SXSW, among other fests. Musician-actor Will Oldham (“Old Joy”) and Colm O’Leary star in the story about a war vet and the Evangelical Christian who takes an interest in his salvation. Alverson and O’Leary pen the script.

Producers Alverson and Courtney Bowles are joined by Chris Swanson, Darius Van Arman, Jonathan Cargill and Ben Swanson as exec producers on “New Jerusalem,” which Factory 25 is prepping for a Nov. 30 theatrical release that starts in Brooklyn and will be followed by screenings around the country. Day-and-date digital release will be followed by a DVD in the coming months.
