Mike Tyson’s solo stage outing “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” will hit the road next year with a 10-week tour that kicks off in Indianapolis.
The Spike Lee-helmed staging will hit some 35 cities including L.A., San Francisco, Chicago and Washington.
The autobiographical monologue recounts Tyson’s life and career stretching from his boxing days to more recent screen forays including cameos in “The Hangover” movies and Animal Planet TV skein “Taking on Tyson.” “Undisputed Truth” bowed in the spring at Las Vegas’ MGM Hotel prior to a summertime stint on the Rialto.
The Gotham run posted strong numbers for a solo outing, logging $1.2 million from 12 performances.
James L. Nederlander reprises his role as producer, feeding the show to the Nederlander Org’s network of regional programming from orgs including Broadway L.A., Broadway San Diego and Shorenstein Hayes Nederlander in San Francisco.
Created by Adam Steck of SPI Entertainment, “Undisputed Truth” is penned by Kiki Tyson. Steck as well as Mike and Kiki Tyson serve as exec producers of the title.
Road incarnation kicks off Feb. 12-13 at Indianapolis’ Murat Theater and subsequently heads to cities including St. Louis, Cincinnati and Louisville, Ky.
