‘Loserville’ moves to West End

Musical hits London after Yorkshire bow

New Brit musical “Loserville” will land on the West End this fall in the wake of a summer preem at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Show is penned by Elliot Davis, who co-wrote the gay Cinderella redux “Soho Cinders” currently playing in London, and James Bourne, a musician with a number of U.K. hits to his name.

Inspired by the album “Welcome to Loserville” by Bourne’s band Son of Dork, “Loserville” centers on a group of misfit friends at an American high school in 1971. Steven Dexter returns to direct a cast that includes Aaron Sidwell and Eliza Hope Bennett.

Produced by Kevin Wallace Ltd., T.C. Beech Ltd., West Yorkshire Playhouse and Youth Music Theater U.K., the West End run of “Loserville” begins previews Oct. 1 prior to an Oct. 17 opening at the Garrick Theater.
