Judy Greer will make her Broadway debut joining legit regulars Josh Hamilton and Jayne Houdyshell in “Dead Accounts,” the new play that will topline Katie Holmes this fall.
The previously announced Norbert Leo Butz (“Cathc Me If You Can”) also appears in the Theresa Rebeck play alongside Holmes. Jack O’Brien (“Hairspray,” “The Coast of Utopia”) directs.
Greer (“The Descendants,” “Two and a Half Men”), whose stage credits include the 2006 Off Broadway production of Paul Weitz’s “Show People,” will play the generally disliked wife of the play’s protag. Storyline centers on Jack (Butz), a man whose unexpected return to his hometown provokes a lot of questions, especially from his sister (Holmes).
Hamilton (“Coasts of Utopia,” “Medieval Play”) plays a childhood friend of Jack’s while Houdyshell (“Follies”) is on board as the matriarch of Jack’s family.
Jeffrey Finn, who produced Rebeck’s play “Seminar” on the Rialto last season, produces “Dead Accounts” with John N. Hart Jr., David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas, Ergo Entertainment, and the Shubert Organization. Show begins previews Nov. 3 at the Music Box Theater ahead of a Nov. 29 opening.
