Akhtar's play to get fall run
Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT3 program will kick off its upcoming season with “Disgraced,” the play by Ayad Akhtar that bowed earlier this year in Chicago.
Windy City helmer Kimberly Senior will direct the show, about a tense dinner party thrown by a Pakistani-American lawyer and his wife, a white artist. Show bowed in January at the American Theater Company in Chi.
LCT3, the LCT series of programming dedicated to smaller-scale productions from emerging legit creatives, will open its newly constructed space on the Lincoln Center campus this June with Greg Pierce’s “Slowgirl.”
“Disgraced” joins an LCT season that already includes a new staging of Clifford Odets’ “Golden Boy” from Bartlett Sher as well as the latest from Christopher Durang, “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” directed by Nicholas Martin.
Show will begin previews Oct. 15 ahead of an Oct. 22 opening at LCT’s Claire Tow Theater.
