XLrator Media has acquired all U.S. rights to the Norwegian supernatural thriller “Thale” and will release the film in early 2013.

The announcement was made at the Toronto International Film Festival, where “Thale” is scheduled to screen Wednesday night in the fest’s Vanguard section.

Pic is directed by Aleksander L. Nordaas from his own script. “Thale” is produced by Bendik Heggen Stronstad under his Yesbox Productions banner, co-produced by Lars L. Maroy at Film Found Fuzz and exec produced by Gudrun Giddings, Tore Fredrik Dreyer and Lars Andreas Hellebust.
