Worldview on board ‘The Sacrament’

Ti West to direct horror thriller

Worldview Entertainment has come on board to finance and produce Ti West’s  horror thriller, “The Sacrament.”

West wrote and will direct the pic. His credits include “House of the Devil, “The Innkeepers” and “V/H/S.”

Logline is being kep under wraps for “The Sacrament,” which will begin shooting late this month in Georgia.

Eli Roth has been set to present and produce with Worldview CEO Christopher Woodrow and Worldview chief operating officer Molly Conners alongside Jacob Jaffke and Peter Phok. Worldview’s Maria Cestone, Sarah Johnson Redlich and Hoyt David Morgan will exec produce alongside Eric Newman, Ti West and IM Global CEO Stuart Ford.

Octane, IM Global’s genre arm, is handling international sales and will introduce the film to foreign buyers at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival. CAA is repping domestic rights.

“The Sacrament” marks Worldview’s second collaboration with Roth following his return to directing with “The Green Inferno,” which is set to shoot in Peru and Chile this fall. Roth is also in Toronto for the world premiere of his  thriller “Aftershock” in the Midnight Madness section.

“We want to make this Ti’s first mainstream movie, without sacrificing the quality and unflinching horror of the subject matter,” Roth said.

Worldview recently wrapped Guillaume Canet’s crime thriller, “Blood Ties” and  Atom Egoyan’s West Memphis Three biopic, “Devil’s Knot.”
