Relativity Media has tapped former Miramax exec Dylan Wilcox as senior VP of acquisitions.
Wilcox, who worked in the same role at his previous gig, will report directly to Relativity prexy Tucker Tooley and production prexy Robbie Brenner.
Wilcox already has just a few degrees of separation from certain Relativity titles: The exec worked as director of acquisitions for Universal in 2007, when the studio consolidated worldwide pickups into one umbrella group that included Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Rogue Pictures and Universal Pictures Intl. Relativity purchased the Rogue library two years later for roughly $150 million.
During his time at U, Wilcox worked on pics including “The Kids Are All Right,” “Kickass” and “Sanctum.” He began his film career at Miramax in New York after earning a degree in film theory and criticism from UC Santa Cruz.
