When ‘Life Happens,’ you make a film

Pic preems at AMC Century City

Two besties write a movie. One directs and one toplines. And finally, they celebrate.

Helmer Kat Coiro, star Krysten Ritter and other cast members appeared for the Monday preem of Stardust’s “Life Happens” at AMC Century City. Loosely based on real events, pic shows the aftermath of an unexpected pregnancy.

“I didn’t have a one-night stand, but I did have a baby,” Coiro said. “My favorite line from the movie is, ‘Who knew we could capitalize on me getting knocked up?’ ”

Opening credits feature Ritter and co-star Kate Bosworth driving while bumping rap anthem “Ridin’.”

Ritter recalled the scene’s genesis, “We literally just googled Chamillionaire, somehow found his direct contact, emailed him, and he’s like, ‘I’m in the studio. Call me tomorrow.’ ”

After the screening, attendees walked across the Westfield Mall for the after-party at Pink Taco, where guests enjoyed Mexican food and Thai beer on the patio.
