Exec began as an assistant, moved through ranks
After four years moving up through the executive ranks at the Weinstein Company, Julie Rapaport has been promoted to veep of production and business development.
Rapaport started at TWC in New York as an assistant to chief operating officer David Glasser. Company later promoted the exec from assistant to manager in the production and business development department before making her a director in that department. Her responsibilities included identifying and developing projects for the company while coordinating those projects with the finance and international sales and distribution teams.
Rapaport later moved from Gotham to Los Angeles to work under production prexy Dylan Sellers.
Veep started her career in the mailroom at the William Morris Agency before beginning at TWC in 2008. Rapaport most recently worked on David O. Russell’s “The Silver Linings Playbook” and is currently helping to develop “August: Osage County.”
