‘Weekend’ plans for indie

Dolby, Williams to direct Patricia Clarkson, Zachary Booth in comedy

Tom Dolby and Tom Williams will make their directorial debut with indie comedy “Last Weekend,” starring Patricia Clarkson, Zachary Booth, Joseph Cross, Devon Gray, Jayma Mays, Chris Mulkey, Alexia Rasmussen and Rutina Wesley.

Production has started in the Lake Tahoe area on the pic, which is produced by Mike Ryan, with Mark Johnson exec producing.

Dolby penned “Last Weekend,” which takes place over a four-day summer holiday at a Northern California estate overlooking Lake Tahoe, where a couple’s two sons and assorted friends and partners have been invited for a long weekend. Leisure gives way to chaos as a series of events disturbs the carefully planned festivities.

Clarkson stars as the matriarch with Cross and Booth portraying her sons and Mulkey as her husband.

Clarkson recently co-starred in “Friends With Benefits”; Booth was last seen in “Keep the Lights On”; Cross is co-starring in “Lincoln”; Graye will next be seen in “American Horror Story: Asylum”; Mays co-stars in “Glee”; and Mulkey recently co-starred on “Boardwalk Empire.”

Dolby is the author of four novels, including “The Sixth Form” and “The Trouble Boy.” Williams’ producing credits include “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.”

The film’s main Tahoe location was featured in 1951’s “A Place in the Sun.”
