WB won’t report ‘Knight’ numbers amid tragedy

Studio will release official information Monday

In the wake of the shooting that claimed 12 victims in Colorado, Warner Bros. has decided withdraw from issuing box office results this weekend for “The Dark Knight Rises.”

“Out of respect for the victims and their families, Warner Bros. Pictures will not be reporting box office numbers for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ throughout the weekend,” the studio said in a statement Friday afternoon. “Box office numbers will be released on Monday.”

The studio reported earlier that “The Dark Knight Rises” scored $30.6 million from approximately 3,700 midnight locations. Imax contributed $2.3 million of the pic’s total late-night gross.
