Warner Bros. has dated James Wan’s horror pic “The Conjuring,” starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, for Jan. 25.
Pic is based on the Perron family, who claimed they “lived among the dead” in the 1970s as spirits both friendly and sinister inhabited their Rhode Island farmhouse. Farmiga and Wilson are playing investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren while Lilli Taylor and Ron Livingston portray the Perrons.
Peter Safran and Tony DeRosa-Grund produce “The Conjuring” — formerly titled “The Warren Files” — through the Safran Co. and DeRosa-Grund’s Evergreen Media Group. Rob Cowan will also produce. Chad and Carey Hayes scripted.
“The Conjuring” will open against Relativity’s comedy “Movie 43,” FilmDistrict’s suspenser “Parker” and Sony’s dance film “Battle of the Year.”
