Directors circling adaptation of Ashley Wood graphic novel

In a seven-figure bidding war, Warner Bros. has acquired “Lore,” an adaptation of Ashley Wood’s IDW-published graphic novel of the same name that has Dwayne Johnson attached to star.

Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott wrote the script, and the deal includes progress-to-production language. There’s no director attached to the project, but several helmers are circling.

Mad Chance principal Andrew Lazar is producing with David Alpert and Rick Jacobs, while Miri Yoon will exec produce with Ted Adams and Ashley Wood. The scribes’ manager, Adam Goldworm of Aperture Entertainment, co-produces.

Anchoring the package is Johnson, who next stars in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” Thesp recently wrapped Exclusive Media’s “Snitch” and is currently filming Michael Bay’s Paramount pic “Pain and Gain.” Johnson is also set to star in Dito Montiel’s “Empire State” and will return for the sixth installment in Universal’s “Fast and Furious” franchise.

Johnson is repped by WME and manager Dany Garcia. Goodman is repped by WME, Aperture and attorney Adam Kaller, while Paradigm, Aperture and attorneys Michael Schenkman and Greg Slewett rep Lott. Wood is repped by CAA and attorney Darren Trattner. IDW is repped by CAA and Circle of Confusion.
