Beats out CBS Films for rights
Warner Bros. has beaten out CBS Films for feature rights to Jamie McGuire’s novel “Beautiful Disaster,” and has set the project with Donald De Line.“Disaster” centers on a college girl who doesn’t drink or swear and is trying to get beyond the darkness of her past — only to find her path quickly challenged by a man described as a “walking one-night stand.” Lynn Harris is overseeing the project for Warners. Warner-based De Line is a producer with Michael Bay and Ian Bryce on bodybuilder drama “Pain and Gain” for Paramount. He’s produced “Green Lantern” and “Yogi Bear” for Warners. McGuire self-published “Beautiful Disaster” and sold over 200,000 copies with Atria recently taking over the publishing. She’s repped by Rebecca Watson of Valerie Hoskins Associates.
