Co. will debut film in September via its Virgil Digital am
Virgil Films has acquired Jennifer Gargano’s 9/11 tribute film “8:46” and will debut the film in September via its Virgil Digital am.
The company acquired “8:46” following its market screening at Cannes. Virgil Films has also partnered with Tuesdays Children charity, providing a portion of the film’s proceeds to the non-profit organization.
Title of the film coincides with the time that five hijackers crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the World Trade Center’s North Tower. “8:46” follows the lives of an ensemble of characters leading to the attacks.
“I created ‘8:46’ as a tribute to all who lost their lives as a result of September 11, 2001, and also to honor the brave men and women who responded to the emergency,” Gargano said. “I felt compelled to bring a more humane and intimate perspective to the tragic events that took place that Tuesday morning.”
