USC to honor De Laurentiis

Events include panel discussion with family members

The USC School of Cinematic Arts will honor the late Dino De Laurentiis with a three-day tribute on March 30 – April 1, culminating in the dedication of the Dino and Martha De Laurentiis Endowed Professorship.

Events will include a panel discussion that will include his widow, producer Martha De Laurentiis; daughter, producer Raffaella De Laurentiis; director/producer Michael Mann; director Jonathan Mostow and cinematographer Dante Spinotti.

Mary J. Sweeney will be installed as the Dino and Martha De Laurentiis Endowed Professor.

A dozen De Laurentiis films will screen at USC’s Norris Theatre/Frank Sinatra Hall during the tribute including “Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy,” “Bitter Rice,” “Serpico,” “King Kong,” “Blue Velvet” and “Hannibal.”

De Laurentiis passed away in 2010 at the age of 91.
