Umbrella Entertainment has picked up rights for Australia and New Zealand to Michael McGowan’s romancer “Still,” starring James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold.
Sales company Cinema Management Group announced Tuesday that it has acquired all international rights in all media for “Still,” which premiered last week at the Toronto Film Festival. Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired U.S. rights on Friday and plans a 2103 release.
“Still” is a Mulmur Feed Co. production, written and directed by Michael McGowan and produced by McGowan, Jody Colero, Tamara Deverell and Avi Federgreen. Richard Hanet exec produced.
In the film, Cromwell’s character sets out to build a more suitable house for his ailing wife, played by Bujold, but gets blindsided by bureaucracy.
Edward Noeltner of CMG and Ben Weiss of Paradigm Talent Agency negotiated the deal on behalf of the producers. Mongrel Media pre-bought the film for Canada.
