Trio on board for ‘Careful’

Hyde Park-Image Nation, Merced, Troika to finance, produce thriller

Hyde Park-Image Nation, Merced Media Partners and Troika Pictures will finance and produce thriller “Careful What You Wish For,” helmed by Elizabeth Allen (“Ramona and Beezus”), it was announced Sunday at the Toronto film festival.

Pic is written by Chris Frisina and stars Isabel Lucas (“Transformers 2”) as the lonely wife of a wealthy businessman who begins an affair with a high school student in a vacation town rocked by a serious crime.

Lensing is set to start the first quarter of 2013. Casting of additional A-list stars will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Careful” is produced by Hyde Park’s Ashok Amritraj, Troika’s Robert Stein, Michael A. Helfant and Bradley Gallo, and Myriad Pictures’ Kirk D’Amico.

Executive producers are William Gallo, Chris Frisina and Merced Media Partners’ Raj Singh, Stuart Brown and Kevin Frakes.

Philip Cohen serves as co-executive producer.

“The lead character of Lena is a uniquely complex femme fatale — a compelling archetype that hasn’t been brought to the screen in some time and is due a revival,” commented Allen in a statement.

Lucas recently completed roles in Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups,” the new “Red Dawn” and “The Loft.”

Hyde Park International is representing worldwide rights for “Careful” in Toronto, and has already closed sales for Germany, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Portugal, South Africa and Indonesia.
