Trio added to ‘CBGB’ cast

Hawkins, Sumner, Galecki join pic

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is rounding out the cast of indie rock biopic “CBGB,” along with Mickey Sumner (“The Borgias”) and Johnny Galecki of TV’s “The Big Bang Theory.”

Hawkins will play Iggy Pop, while Sumner has been tapped as Patti Smith. Galecki will play band manager Terry Ork.

Also joining the cast, which toplines Alan Rickman, Rupert Grint and Malin Akerman, are Steven Schub (“24”), Evan Alex Cole (“She’s Out of My League”), Kerry Bische (“Red State”) and Peter Vack, who stared in MTV’s recently axed comedy “I Just Want My Pants Back.”

“CBGB,” which stands for Country, Bluegrass and Blues, centers on the legendary nightclub founded in the 1970s by Hilly Kristal, played by Rickman. Pic will start shooting later this month.
