Tribeca nabs ‘Collaborator’

Martin Donovan's film to get summer release

Tribeca Film has picked up U.S. rights to Martin Donovan’s “Collaborator,” the comedy-drama that bowed last year at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

Written and directed by thesp Donovan in his directorial debut, pic centers on a playwright who is held hostage in his childhood home by his old neighbor. Donovan leads a cast that also includes David Morse and Olivia Williams.

Julien Favre, Ted Hope, Luca Matrundola and Pascal Vaguelsy produced the film. Tribeca’s Nick Savva inked the distribution deal with Hope and with Charlotte Mickie of Entertainment One, the company that will handle some U.S. homevid distribution rights.

Tribeca, the Gotham-based distributor loosely affiliated with the Tribeca Film Festival, plans a summer release on multiple platforms, with specifics still to be set.
