Drama centers on a man who becomes a role model to a 15-year-old

Tye Sheridan (“Mud”, “Tree of Life”) has joined the cast of Worldview Entertainment’s drama “Joe,” starring Nicolas Cage.

“Joe” will be directed by David Gordon Green and is based on Larry Brown’s novel of the same title. Gary Hawkins adapted for the screen.

Shooting will begin Oct. 31 in Austin, Texas. CAA packaged and arranged financing for the film and is repping domestic rights, while WestEnd Films is handling international sales at the American Film Market.

Worldview announced during the Toronto Intl. Film Festival that it had come on board to finance and produce. “Joe” is produced by Green, Lisa Muskat and Worldview CEO Christopher Woodrow alongside Derrick Tseng.

Story centers on a man who becomes a role model to a 15-year-old, the oldest child of a homeless family ruled by a worthless father. Together they try to find a path to redemption in a rugged Southern town.

Sheridan is repped by WME and Mosaic. Green is repped by CAA.
