The Toronto Film Festival’s 38th edition will take place Sept. 5-15, 2013.
In keeping with tradition, the event launches the first Thursday following Labor Day, which means next year’s fest overlaps Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
“With our position fixed in a crowded calendar of festivals regulated by the Intl. Federation of Film Producers Assns, it’s not possible to shift the dates,” said fest artistic director Cameron Bailey on Monday. “As a result, we will do our best to schedule repeat screenings to accommodate festivalgoers who will be observing the Jewish High Holy Days.”
This year’s fest featured 147 world premieres and was attended by 4,280 registered industry delegates, 1,200 accredited media and more than 400,000 members of the public.
