Tokyo market to shift venue

Event moves to larger site in Odaiba

TOKYO — The Tokyo Film Festival’s Tiffcom pic and TV mart is moving to Odaiba, a trendy Tokyo Bay district, after failing to secure its usual venue in the Roppongi Hill complex in downtown Tokyo for its Oct. 23-25 edition.

The new digs in the Grand Pacific Le Daiba Hotel will give the mart 20% more space.

The Tokyo film fest will be held Oct. 20-28 in Roppongi Hills and the events will provide shuttles to move back and forth between the two locations.

Advantages of the new venue include its proximity to Haneda and Narita airports.

Hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japanese promo org UniJapan, Tiffcom recorded 226 exhibitors and 817 registered buyers last year.
