German distrib picks up four pics
BERLIN — German distrib Tiberius Film has picked up a slew of titles at the American Film Market, including the Huck Botko-directed comedy “Johnson,” starring Cam Gigandet as a lothario whose protesting penis takes human form in the shape of comedian Nick Thune.
The acquisition marks Tiberius’ first deal with London sales company Salt. “Johnson,” said Tiberius managing partner Wolfgang Carl, “has huge potential, a great cast and a highly contemporary topic.”
Also making it into the company’s genre-crossing shopping basket were Bleibert Entertainment’s horror pic “Under the Bed,” by Steven C. Miller; Voltage’s post-apocalyptic zombie thriller “The Demented,” by Christopher Roosevelt; and “Bootnecks,” Ron Scalpello’s U.K. military drama about the Royal Marines, from IM Global.
