Several studios are in chase for sci-fi actioner
WME is out with a red-hot package titled “Agent 13” that pairs “Prometheus” star Charlize Theron with “Rise of the Apes” helmer Rupert Wyatt, who would direct the sci-fi action pic from a script by T.S. Nowlin.
While plot details remain under wraps, most of the major studios are pursuing the project, including Sony, Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures, Paramount, Universal and 20th Century Fox.
Theron is coming off strong reviews for her perf in Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody’s “Young Adult.” She next stars in Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” and Rupert Sanders’ “Snow White and the Huntsman.”
Wyatt recently directed “Rise of the Apes,” which grossed $481 million worldwide.
Nowlin is writing “Wild Guns” for Gianni Nunnari’s Hollywood Gang Prods.
WME reps Theron, Nowlin and Wyatt, who is also repped by Independent Talent Group.
