SXSW: Image nabs ‘The Tall Man’

Thriller preemed at Berlin, stars Jessica Biel

Image Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to thriller “The Tall Man,” which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and is screening at this year’s SXSW Festival.

“Tall Man” stars Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie, William B. Davis, Samantha Ferris and Katherine Ramdeen. Pascal Laugier (“Martyrs”) directed from his own script, and the pic was produced by SND, Radar Films and Mind’s Eye Entertainment.

Story’s set in a town where children have gone missing over the years, leaving superstitious locals talking of “the Tall Man,” a legendary, dark figure who absconds with children.

Producers are Clement Miserez (Radar Films) and Kevin DeWalt (Mind’s Eye Entertainment) along with Jean-Charles Levy (Forecast Pictures) and Scott Kennedy (Highwire Pictures).

Deal was negotiated by Bill Bromiley and Mark Ward for Image Entertainment and by CAA and Stephen Saltzmann of Loeb & Loeb on behalf of SND.
