Antonio Campos pic will be IFC's third pic of fest

IFC Films is in final negotiations to acquire writer-director Antonio Campos’ “Simon Killer” for mid-six figures.

Matt Palmieri financed the pic through his FilmHaven Entertainment and produced with Campos’ Borderline Films partners Josh Mond and Sean Durkin. Melody Roscher co-produced.

While sources caution that no deal has closed, IFC Films distributed Campos’ first film, “Afterschool,” which starred Ezra Miller.

“Simon Killer” stars Brady Corbet (“Funny Games”) as Simon, a recent college graduate who goes to Paris after breaking up with his girlfriend. While there, he falls in love with a mysterious young prostitute, though it is Simon who has deeper secrets.

CAA and UTA are negotiating the deal on behalf of the filmmakers, as UTA reps the Borderline trio.

IFC Films acquired Josh Radnor’s “Liberal Arts” on Wednesday night, and earlier today, IFC Midnight closed a deal to acquire Nicholas McCarthy’s “The Pact.”
