Strand Releasing takes on ‘Bright Day’

Company acquires U.S. rights to romancer starring Craig Roberts, Imogen Poots

Strand Releasing has acquired all U.S. rights to Simon Aboud’s romancer “Comes a Bright Day,” starring Craig Roberts and Imogen Poots.

“Bright” was financed by Matador Pictures, Regent Capital and Lost Tribe Prods. Christine Alderson produced; her previous producing credits include Sam Garbarski’s “Irina Palm,” which Strand also distributed.

The film, which is Aboud’s feature debut, screened in the Berlin Film Festival’s Generations section earlier this year.

Story is set during the armed robbery of London’s most exclusive jeweler. Kevin McKidd and Timothy Spall (“the King’s Speech”) also star.

The deal was done between Jon Gerrans of Strand Releasing and Alderson.
