Company acquires U.S. rights to Anne Fontaine's comedy
Strand Releasing has acquired all U.S. rights to Anne Fontaine’s comedy “My Worst Nightmare,” starring Isabelle Huppert, Benoit Poelvoorde and Andre Dussollier.
Strand plans a fall release.
The comedy finds an uptight contemporary gallery owner played by Huppert who falls in an unlikely relationship with a crass contractor, played by Poelvoorde, who is in the process of remodeling her apartment.
The film was produced by Francis Boespflug, Philippe Carcassonne and Bruno Pesery.
Strand also distributed Fontaine’s 1998 film “Dry Cleaning,” which was also produced by Carcassonne.
Fontaine’s previous film “Coco Before Chanel” also starred Poelvoorde in a lead role.
The deal was done between Jon Gerrans of Strand Releasing and Muriel Sauzay of Pathe Intl.
